November 23, 2022 – New York, NY and Maplewood, NJ /Strivers Row Media/:
Who: National Civil Rights Organizations
What: Condemnation of Acts of Violence and Hatred Against The Jewish Community, Synagogues, and All People
When: November 23, 2022
Where:  New York, NY and Maplewood, NJ
Why: The Criticality of Making Bold Statements Against Hate and Bigotry To Save Lives In America and Around The World…

“The Founders of the NAACP were women and men who included white descendants of abolitionists, Blacks and Jews,” stated Darryl Jeffries, President of the NAACP of the Oranges and Maplewood, NJ.  “When hate and violence is perpetrated against Jews, it is perpetrated about the very foundation of our organization,” he continued.

“In the wake of the recent arrests at New York City’s Penn Station of gun toting terrorists bent on violence against the Jewish community and its synagogues we stand in solidarity with the NAACP, with our Jewish brethren, and with all other who are targets of ill will,” stated Leland Hardy, a Holocaust scholar and the Founder of the 501(c)(3) Racial Bias Dot Org.

When synagogues in Maplewood, NJ and elsewhere in the NY, NJ, CT tristate area were put on highest threat alert by the FBI just weeks ago on November 3, 2022, Messrs. Jeffries and Hardy stood in solidarity with the Mayor of the Township of Maplewood, NJ, Dean Dafis, on the Maplewood Town Hall steps to show strength in numbers and to host the debut Jazz for Social Justice™ (www.JazzForSocialJustice.org) concert that uses the power of universal language of music to tamp down violence and hate wherever it rears its ugly head.  (see Mayor Dafis’ remarks here:  https://bit.ly/JazzForSocialJusticeLaunchEventWithMaplewoodNJ-Mayor-DeanDafis-11-10-22)

Messrs. Jeffries and Hardy have collaborated to issue a joint statement on behalf of their respective organizations.   “The NAACP of The Oranges and Maplewood, NJ and Racial Bias Dot Org, Inc. state in the strongest terms possible that hate will not be tolerated and hate must be called out whenever it is suspected.  We will be scheduling meetings with Jewish leaders from the Anti-Defamation League, the American Jewish Congress, as well as local and national government officials and others to discuss specific proposals to prevent the kind of vile hatred that was expressed by the men who were arrested at New York’s Penn Station transit hub carrying Swastikas, arms, and ammunition just days ago,” stated the pair.
