Winter Garden, FL • Congressional District 11 — September 30, 2026 — Strivers Row Media — James Pericola, Democratic nominee for Florida’s open 11th Congressional District, promises an abundant harvest for Floridians upon his assuming office after the November 3rd election.
Pericola supports a comprehensive agricultural agenda focused on food security, economically viable family farms, a dependable workforce, protection of Florida’s water and soil, agricultural research and innovation, climate resilience and stronger rural communities.

“Agriculture is not a side issue in Florida—it is part of the foundation of our economy, our environment and our food security,” Pericola said. “When Florida’s farmers succeed, our families, rural communities and the nation’s food supply benefit.”
Pericola said federal policy must help preserve productive farmland while ensuring that Florida producers have reliable access to labor, water, transportation, markets, credit, scientific research and modern technology.
He also supports policies that strengthen family farms and help ensure that younger generations can continue farming rather than being economically compelled to sell agricultural land for development.
“The goal is straightforward: keep productive farms productive, help family farms survive from one generation to the next, and make certain that government helps Florida agriculture compete rather than standing in its way,” Pericola said.
Farmers and Farmworkers
Pericola said Florida cannot maintain a strong agricultural economy without a dependable workforce. He supports a lawful and predictable agricultural labor and visa system that allows producers to plan their growing seasons while providing agricultural workers with safe conditions and fair treatment.
“Farmers need predictability, and workers deserve dignity,” Pericola said. “Campaign slogans do not plant crops, harvest fields or get produce to market. Florida needs an agricultural labor system that works in the real world.”
Pericola also supports science-based efforts to protect Florida’s water and soil, combat invasive pests and disease, improve resilience to extreme weather and expand agricultural research and technology.
He said Florida should lead the nation in precision agriculture, advanced irrigation, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, improved crop varieties, food processing and other technologies capable of increasing productivity while protecting natural resources.
“Florida should never have to choose between prosperous agriculture and responsible stewardship,” Pericola said. “Science, innovation and common sense can help us produce more efficiently, protect our water and soil, and make Florida agriculture stronger for generations to come.”
“No Floridian Should Ever Be Treated Like Dirt”
Pericola said the FDAC endorsement also reflects a larger commitment underlying his campaign: ensuring that rural communities and people throughout Florida’s 11th Congressional District have a voice in Washington.
“Whether you own thousands of acres, operate a family farm, work in the fields, transport Florida produce, conduct agricultural research or simply want safe, affordable food on your family’s table, agriculture touches your life,” Pericola said.
“My mission is to serve all of Florida’s 11th Congressional District. I will listen to farmers, agricultural workers and rural communities. I won’t deign to engage in the mud-slinging and dirty politics my opponent, Joe Strada – who refuses to debate me – engages in. Nobody should be ignored, and no Floridian should ever be treated like dirt.”
